Le Quebec Community Groups Network et ses représentants de toutes les régions de la province réunis à Montréal ont célébré aujourd’hui les 20 ans de leadership de l’organisme – solide porte-parole de la communauté québécoise d’expression anglaise. Dans le cadre de ses célébrations, le QCGN a procédé à l’intronisation d’un nouveau membre honoraire, Ann Marie Powell de la Corporation de développement de la communauté d’expression anglaise de Mégantic (MCDC). Il a également lancé le prix Jeunes Québécois aux commandes pour rendre hommage aux leaders émergents de la communauté, dont l’action est exemplaire.

Quebec Community Groups Network celebrates 20th anniversary

Montreal, June 12 2015 – 

The Quebec Community Groups Network celebrated 20 years of leadership as a strong voice of Quebec’s English-speaking community as its representatives from across the province gathered Friday in Montreal.  As part of the anniversary celebrations, the QCGN inducted Ann Marie Powell from the Megantic English-speaking Community Development Corporation (MCDC) as a new honorary member, and launched the Young Quebecers Leading the Way award to celebrate up-and-coming community leaders who do just that.

QCGN concerned about vitality of English-speaking communities and Quebec as a whole

Montreal, June 14, 2014 – 

The Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) wrapped up its annual meeting Saturday after three days of discussing community vitality as well as how it can be measured and it can be improved.

“Those of us who gathered here in Montreal represent a Community of Communities in different regions and different sectors. Vitality can look very different from one of these to another,” said QCGN President Dan Lamoureux, noting the QCGN members are concerned about the vitality of Quebec as a whole.

QCGN call for nominations extended to May 11

As a result of member requests, and upon the recommendation of the Chair of the Nominations Committee, the QCGN Board has extended the deadline for nominations to the Board of Directors by seven days. There have been numerous adjustments to the election process this year and the Board wants to ensure that QCGN member organizations have every opportunity to take part in this important exercise. Nominations and supporting material must be sent to the QCGN office and received or postmarked by May 11, 2011. They can be sent by mail, fax, or email. Quebec Community Groups Network looks for new board members

The Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) is seeking nominations for community leaders to serve as candidates for election to its Board of Directors.

Nominees may come from any of the member organizations of the QCGN, but each member organization may only nominate one candidate. Board members are asked to serve a two-year term from September 2009 to September 2011 with up to two renewable terms. Nominations must be received by July 17, 2009. Read more…
