Chez Doris

Chez Doris is a charitable organization, which offers a daytime shelter for women in difficulty.  It provides social services, recreational activities, as well as educational and practical assistance in a secure and accepting environment. Available seven days a week, it helps address problems of loneliness, isolation and depression and offers programs to assist with women’s immediate needs related to coping with poverty, homelessness, mental illness and/or addictions. Its services include: a drop-in program; breakfast and lunch; emergency food bags; 6 respite beds; telephone information and referral assistance; a custodial services and financial management program; an Inuit assistance program; a housing placement program; health and mental health services; legal services; as well as educational and socio-recreational programs.
