The Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) is seeking a bilingual, dynamic, outcomes focused individual for the position of Quebec Government Relations Director to ensure that the interests of Quebec’s English-speaking communities (ESCQ) are duly represented and promoted to the Quebec Government and key provincial decision-makers. The QCGN is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, with 56-member organizations, that works cooperatively and in partnership with community stakeholders, leaders, governments and institutions to identify, explore, and address strategic issues affecting the development and vitality of Quebec’s English-speaking communities (ESCQ).
The Quebec Government Relations Director reports directly to the Director-General. The focus of the role is to develop sustainable collaborative relationships with the offices of provincial policy and community political leadership to advance the interests of our minority community, which counts more than 1 million English-speaking Quebecers. The incumbent supports QCGN staff and QCGN’s Network members by providing evidenced-based analysis, expert advice and sound recommendations to support issues management and program and policy analysis, by analyzing the impact of existing provincial government’s policies, programs and legislation, priorities and political agenda and the province’s position on official language rights on the ESCQ as well as the impact of any proposed changes.
