
The Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations (QFHSA) is very pleased to collaborate with the Community Learning Centre Initiative (CLC) of the Leading English Education and Resource Network (LEARN) and the Committee for the Enhancement of the Curriculum of the History of Quebec (ComECH-QC) for a very special event to celebrate Black contributions to the history of Quebec.
- The evening’s host, the Honourable Marlene Jennings, will lead the event through an exploration of the Black contributions to the history of Quebec for over five centuries.
- Guest Speakers Dr. Dorothy Williams, PhD, of Concordia University, and Mr. Linton Garner, Marketing and Sales Director of blacbiblio.com, will offer simultaneous presentations on the ABC’s of Canadian Black History Kit / La trousse de l’ABC de l’histoire des Noirs du Canada. Dr. Williams and Mr. Garner are the co-creators of this educational material, which delves into the history and lives of Black Canadians.
- The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the Honourable Marlene Jennings, Dr. Dorothy Williams, and Mr. Linton Garner.
This Zoom workshop will take place February 1 or February 10 at 7 p.m.
